I'm Stephanie Nelson the Coupon Mom and if you want to save a lot of money on your groceries then you want to learn how to be a strategic shopper. Strategic shopping is about combining store sale prices with coupons available. It can take a lot of time though to figure out what all the deals are by putting these together. Fortunately you don't have to do that because Couponmom.com does it for you. We have a team of professional strategic shoppers who figure out the best deals at thousands of grocery stores across the country each week. All you have to do is look for your store and the grocery deals by state section and follow the instructions, then you'll save a lot of money. Let me show you it works.
The easiest way to use coupons is to use the CouponMom system, which is to getting the Sunday newspaper coupons every week, and you'll expect to see 2 or 3 circulars. One is called SmartSource another is called Red Plum and about once a month you'll see a circular for Procter and Gamble. When you get the circulars out of the paper write that Sunday's date right on the cover and then save all the circulars. I keep mine in a box like this. You can also use a file or a folder. When it's time to shop I just print my list of deals off the CouponMom site for my store and the list will tell me exactly what date each coupon came out. All I have to do is go to my coupon collection, cut out the few coupons that I need that week and I can save. That's only going to take me 10 to 15 minutes a week.
Let me show you how easy it is to make a list. To make your store list, go to the grocery deals by state section and find your store, click on it and hit go. That's a pop-up window and you'll get a list. The first column tells you the date the coupon came out and which circular it's from, the abbreviations are for each circular: P&G, SmartSource and Red Plum. The second column tells you the name of the item and the size and then the coupon value, the quantity you need to purchase for the coupon, the item's sale price, the final price after the coupon is used and the percentage that you'll be saving when you use the coupon.
When I use the list I always start out by sorting the list. Each column has arrows that allow you to sort it. I sort the list by percentage saved so I can see immediately what the very best deals are. Each item description may have more detail. For example if an item has a printable coupon available, you'll see a live link to that printable coupon. Just click on that, it'll take you to our coupon section and you can print the coupon from there. In addition, if you see the word "charity" next to an item that means that's a great deal and it's a great item to donate to a local charity, shelter or food drive.
In order to create a list, I just go down the list and I see which items I need and I select items by clicking the box. After you go through the list and you've selected all the items you want, you hit "Display Selected Deals" and I see my store list. I have a couple of options here. I can print the list or I can email it to myself. I always do that because I email it to myself so I can have one copy saved and I can also access it in the store on my smartphone if I want to. After I email it to myself I also print a copy and now I'll cut the coupons. The coupons will be in chronological order and they'll all be grouped together by circular. If I have several coupons from the same circular, they'll all be together. These items all came from the June 6th Smartsource circular.
