On this night sixteen years later, before the NFL game between the Denver Broncos and the San Diego Chargers, Challenger the bald eagle flew across Empower Field at Mile High Stadium during the singing of the Star Spangled Banner. There was a short memorial and moment of silence before the National Anthem.
