What’s the story of pens? When was the pen invented? Why did people use feather pens? Join us as we investigate the history of ink pens with the help of some clay (cuneiform), a reed (reed pens) and a feather (quill pens).
Together we will discover:
• Cuneiform (The Clay) - What is cuneiform? Where does it come from? How did it pave the way for ink pens?
• Reed Pens (The Reed) - Who made the first pens? Why were they made of reeds? What did they write on?
• Quill Pens (The Feather) - Why did people switch to quill pens? How are quill pens made?
