• Explain the negative implications of catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI) and why reduction is so important,
• Identify the most effective evidence-based intervention strategies for CAUTI reduction,
• Describe two practice-based interventions used for the initiative,
• Identify the three educational components necessary for achieving successful CAUTI reduction, and
• Describe how this initiative could be implemented and sustained in larger acute care settings and could be adapted to reduce other healthcare-associated infections.
