Would you cry? I think my body went into shock when I found out I was accepted. The University of Pennsylvania has been a dream for me to attend. I am extremely grateful and blessed to be attending UPenn in the fall. I did get scholarship to study at UPenn!! I attribute the scholarship to my portfolio design (which I did a full portfolio walkthrough here    • Architecture Portfolio flip through |...  ) My background: I graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Architecture. With the top applicants from around the world (literally) applying to the best schools in the country (all the Ivy Leagues!), it's important to spend quality time on your college application. The aim of this video is to read through my UPenn application essays got that in so you get an idea of what UPenn was looking for in their graduate student applicants. Around summer time of 2019 was when I really started grinding on my applications for graduate schools! Definitely a lot enough time to finish up your application to grad schools. UPenn was the only Ivy I had interest in applying to! (Sorry Harvard!!) The essay I read in this video is NOT the common app essay. This essay is NOT for undergraduate. This essay is for their graduate student application. To reiterate, I already have my undergrad degree! The essay prompt was “You must upload a personal statement, no more than 500 words long, describing your background, interest in your field, and your academic and career objectives. You should be as specific as you can about the area in which you plan to study." In the video I give tips regarding the difference between my undergraduate essays that I wrote on my Common Application vs. my graduate school essays. They're at the end of the video. Also, please be sure to get multiple people to read these essays!! It might be tiresome to constantly rework the same essay, but with such a short word limit, it is important that it is concise, and well-written. I hope you enjoyed this video! Let me know if you want more college admission advice or more videos along this line. If not, I'll happily go back to making architecture or art videos!!
