Opossum Remodeling His Den

What good is a tail, you ask?  Well if you're a Virginia opossum with a prehensile tail, the answer is: tails rock!  The other night, this guy decided it was time to "remodel" and took all of his bedding out of his den and then put it back again.  Note that his favorite blanket is clamped tightly in his tail as his does his work!  In the wild, opossums will use their tails not only to balance and grip things to steady themselves when climbing, but also to carry grass and leaves to make themselves a comfortable bed to sleep on, especially in the winter.  Although this opossum has leaves to use for his bed, he prefers towels!
