Make Leather Jacket Smaller- Tailoring to Shrink and Alter Size

Follow along as I alter the waist and back of a client’s favourite Leather Motorcycle jacket.

He had lost quite a bit of weight and did not want to part with it. This particular style is no longer available and it has all the right pockets inside and out that he needs and loves.
This jacket was made smaller by removing part of the back and creating a seam down the centre to make it appear as an original style line.
The jacket leather was quite thick and heavy and there was a double lining with a pocket for the removable back armour.
Luckily there wasn’t any metal hardware to deal with altering it this way.
Unfortunately I do not have a photo of the the client in his jacket with the completed alterations as his wife had to pick it up for him.
But, I did receive a lovely phone call from him thanking me and telling me that it was perfect.
Always the best feeling when a client is Happy!
