Soyuz-2.1a launches Soyuz MS-16

A Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle launched the Soyuz MS-16 spacecraft from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on 9 April 2020, at 08:05 UTC (14:05 local time, 04:05 EDT). This is the first Soyuz-2.1a rocket to launch a crewed mission to the International Space Station. The Soyuz MS-16 spacecraft, with NASA astronaut Chris Cassidy and Roscosmos cosmonauts Anatoly Ivanishin and Ivan Vagner, is scheduled to automatically dock to the ISS after six hours, at 14:20 UTC (10:20 EDT)
