In today's episode of Garageaholic's BMW E30 M3 S54 build, we take you on a meticulous journey of refurbishing the S54 throttle bodies—a crucial step in ensuring the peak performance of this legendary engine. 🛠️🚗
🌀 Stripping and Vapor Honing: The aluminum bodies of the throttle were completely stripped down, and then expertly vapor honed by Jordan Sarette, a name synonymous with quality in the BMW enthusiast community. This precision process not only cleaned the parts to perfection but also brought out the best in their material, restoring them to their original glory.
🔩 Zinc Coating Excellence: Along with the honing, each component underwent a meticulous zinc coating process. We chose yellow zinc for some parts and clear chromate for others, ensuring not just a stunning visual appeal but also superior corrosion resistance. This step guarantees that our throttle bodies aren't just functional, but durable and visually striking.
✨ Hand Polishing Perfection: The dedication to detail didn’t stop there. Every remaining part, including the delicate brass butterfly valves and air tubing, received a thorough hand polish using Blue Magic metal polish. This labor of love ensured that each component gleamed with a mirror-like finish, a testament to the painstaking care and attention devoted to every aspect of this project.
