Continuous probability deals with events that can take on an infinite number of values within a given range. Unlike discrete probability, which deals with countable outcomes, continuous probability involves outcomes represented on a continuum. The probability of any single point in a continuous probability distribution is zero; instead, probabilities are determined over intervals. The probability density function (PDF) is used to describe the likelihood of a random variable falling within a particular range. Integrating the PDF over a specific interval gives the probability that the variable falls within that range. The cumulative distribution function (CDF) represents the probability that a random variable is less than or equal to a certain value. Continuous distributions, such as the normal distribution, exponential distribution, and uniform distribution, are commonly used in various fields. These distributions are characterized by parameters, like mean and variance for the normal distribution. Understanding continuous probability is essential for statistical analysis and modeling real-world phenomena.
