Pavegen has collaborated with Shell
Pavegen has collaborated with Shell to introduce the first human and solar powered football pitch in Lagos, Nigeria as a part of Shell's #makethefuture campaign.
The Pavegen team installed 96 tiles, which produce kinetic energy at the Federal College of Education, where over 10,000 students will become the next generation of teachers across Nigeria. Currently, Africa has great issues accessing energy and the college entirely runs off diesel generators.
The Founder and CEO of Pavegen mentioned in his LinkedIn blog: "The project shows how the energy mix of the future will combine kinetic and solar power to improve communities".
The pitch was inaugurated on 11th of December by the global music artist and serial solar entrepreneur, Akon.
