Day 2 route: Merzouga - Erg Chebbi dunes
The famous 3-day Sahara (or not) Desert tour is very popular among tourists visiting the country. There have been a lot of mixed reviews regarding the tour. Is it really worth it? How's the scenery on the road, etc?
In this video, I will show you the scenery taken on day 2 and last day of the tour. We arrived at Merzouga, a town at the edge of Moroccan desert and taken to Erg Chebbi dunes by camels. We admired the sunset in the desert and, camel riding after dark to Berber camp, enjoying foods and music and overnight under the starry sky in the desert. On the next day, we were taken by camel to see sunrise on desert at 5:30am, before heading back to Marrakech.
This kind of tour basically involves a lot of car travelling. On average, we travelled 7-8 hours a day and on the final day (Day 3), we needed to set off around 8am from Merzouga and only reached Marrakech after 5pm. There was no side visit on final day (apart from comfort and lunch stops).
