The New York Knicks, what can i say about them? They are the biggest franchise in the NBA and even they have an underdog story. The 1999 New York Knicks were a fusion of old talent (Patrick Ewing, Allan Houston, Larry Johnson) and new talent (Latrell Sprewell, Kurt Thomas, Marcus Camby). On paper, this team looked like a beast but that wasn't the case. They just squeaked into the NBA playoffs. Then something historic started to happen. They joined the elusive club of being an 8th seed to beat 1st seed. But that's not why this team is so special, teams have done this before. The 1999 New York Knicks were a very special team, because they were the first and only team in league history to make the NBA finals as an 8th seed. An improbable story likely to never be seen again due to the various circumstances this organization was put in. They beat the heat, hawks, and pacers on their route to the NBA finals.
