In this video tutorial, you will learn how to create book cover with Microsoft Designer AI tool. The cover designed with this program can be used to publish books on some platforms like Amazon KDP, Kobo Writing Life, Apple Books, Draft to Digital, and other platforms where you can publish books.
Visit https://designer.microsoft.com and log in with your details. In the description section, describe the type of book cover you want to create. After describing the cover, click Generate. From the designs returned, click on the one you want to edit further. After the selection, click the Customize design button.
On the new page that opens, you can delete the image that is placed by the Designer software. To do that, click on the image followed by the backspace key of your device keyboard. You can change the background color applied by default. Click on one of the corners of the design and select Background command. Select a new background color.
To add text on the design, click the Text tab. Select the type of text you want to add (heading, subheading, or body text). You can edit the text further by double clicking on the text box.
After the design, save your project by clicking the Download command which is at the top right. From the options displayed, select Download again. This action will make the design saved in the Downloads folder of your PC in seconds.
Once the design is downloaded, you need to take further step. Many book publishing websites recommend having covers in 300DPI. So, will improve the cover design quality with Microsoft Publisher. Open your Publisher app. Import the design you created using the Designer AI tool. In saving the new design, select JPEG and select quality of 300dpi before you save.
