I have been meaning to do a video comparing a lux meter to a smartphone app, but no apps that I know of have had reliable and repeatable results until now. In order to use a camera on a smartphone and get consistent results when used as a light meter, it must have calibrations for various light sources. These days there are too many different types of light sources to produce consistent results. That's why this app has calibrated lighting types to choose from.
