In the first video of our series of Walks around the Mornington Peninsula, we take you through the vast Wildlife Reserve at The Briars, Mount Martha, as well as walking around the grounds of the Homestead and outbuildings.

The Wildlife Reserve is home to many native flora and fauna.  You will find Australian Native animals in their natural habitat, on your walk.

Kangaroos, Wallabies, Echidna, Sugar Glider, Emu, Swans, Ducks, Egret, Koala, Spotted Pardalote, Lorikeet, Fan Tailed Cuckoo, Striated Pardalote, Yellow Faced Honeyeater, Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoo, Willie Wagtail, Bush Rat, Tawny Frogmouth, Kookaburra, Australasian darter, Magpie, Australasian Raven, Eastern Yellow Robin and many more.

The Briars also has an Information Centre,  Cafe, Kiosk picnic tables, vineyard, Homestead, Astrological Society, nursery & public toilets.

There is a Heritage Vegetable Seed Garden, as well as pens with Cochin Chickens and Dorking Chickens.  You can even see the massive Berkshire Pigs in their run.

One of the shorter walks in the Wildlife Reserve being suitable for wheelchairs and prams.

Entrance to the Wildlife Reserve and parking is free.

Owned jointly by the Mornington Peninsula Shire and the National Trust of Australia (Victoria), the property is an ideal place for families, walkers and nature lovers.

This is the perfect spot for a family picnic at a beautiful farmland.

The Park is open from 9.00 - 4.30pm for 364 days of the year.
