This video illustrates the five-step process of Bio-Rad's V3 Western Workflow System, which enables you to not only streamline your western workflow but also visualize, verify, and validate your results at multiple points throughout the process.
This unique workflow produces consistent results faster and more easily than ever before across a wide range of drug discovery and development applications. The V3 Western Workflow provides increased confidence in protein expression analysis for target and lead discovery and faster confirmation of protein levels with accurate quantitation in preclinical and biomarker studies
By combining traditional blotting techniques with innovative tools such as TGX Stain-Free™ Precast Gels, the Trans-Blot® Turbo™ Rapid Blotting System, and the ChemiDoc Touch Imager, this system allows you to quickly check electrophoresis results and blot transfer quality prior to western blotting, simplifying total protein quantitation analysis post-immunodetection.
The Five Steps of the V3 Western Workflow system:
• Separate proteins — Mini-PROTEAN® and Criterion™ TGX Stain-Free™ Precast Gels offer superior protein separation in as little as 15 minutes in standard Tris/glycine running buffer
• Visualize proteins — protein separation can be visualized and confirmed on a ChemiDoc Touch Imager after a 1-minute activation without staining. Stain-free technology is a sensitive, time-saving alternative to traditional Coomassie staining, offering a streamlined workflow
• Transfer proteins — the Trans-Blot Turbo system enables rapid protein transfer in as little as 3 minutes while maintaining high transfer efficiency over a wide range of molecular weights
• Verify protein transfer — the ChemiDoc Touch Imager enables stain-free imaging for instant verification of protein transfer to the membrane
• Validate and quantitate — the ChemiDoc Touch Imager with Image Lab™ Software can be used to validate western blotting data by total protein normalization, eliminating the need for stripping and reprobing and preventing problems with oversaturation of control bands. Unlike relative normalization to housekeeping proteins, total protein normalization with Image Lab Software yields truly quantitative results.
