Tamil Cinema Vachathi MOVIE is a real incident based on the famous Vachathi Case, a crucial crime that occurred in Vachathi Village of Dharmapuri district in Tamil Nadu on the 20th of June, 1992.
A team of police officers and forest officials entered the Vachathi village searching for smuggled sandalwood. The team supposedly destroyed the houses, assaulted more than 100 men and raped 18 women.
Director Ravi Thambi has been threatened by anonymous calls to stop the movie but he completed the movie successfully and thanked the actual people in the Vachathi village for all their support.
