Addison’s disease is a potentially life-threatening illness in which the body does not produce enough cortisol or aldosterone. It is a very rare disease – affecting only about everyone in 100,000 people – though it can affect anyone at any time in their life.

Is it hereditary? What is the pathophysiology, pathogensis, and endocrinology? What us Cushing's disease? And the mechanism and primal of the disease?

It’s caused by damaged adrenal glands. Most patients with Addison’s disease have an auto-immune disorder that ends up damaging the adrenal glands, though it can also be caused by long-lasting infections such as HIV or tuberculosis. Existing cancer can also damage the adrenal glands.

The good news is that even though it is life-threatening, it can be controlled with medication. Former US President John F. Kennedy had the condition.
