A beautiful wooden Buddhist temple built in 1681 by the fifth shogun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi in honor of his mother (Edo period). It survived a series of firebombing air raids (World War II) and the earthquakes, and its main hall has become "Important Cultural Property" of Japan.
