The Evolution of Gemcraft (2008 - 2020)

Gemcraft is a series of Tower Defence games run under Flash. 5 games have been released since the first release of the original Gemcraft in 2008, quickly spawning another game in the following year in 2009. Since then, there has been 3 more games. Gemcraft Labyrinth in 2011, Chasing Shadows in 2014 and Frostborn Wrath in 2020.

Gemcraft became one of the most popular tower defence games upon release. This (along with Bloons Tower Defence) set the stage for the tower defence genre and helped propel Flash games (at the time) to be more dominant and more popular before it's inevitable shutdown this year.

This video will do its best to show the gameplay evolution of the game, new features, the current story and some of the insane endgames that this series has to offer.

Since Flash will be gone at the end of this year, it is fitting to pay a tribute to one of the best tower defence series of all time.
