What's up guys ? How's things going? Hope everything cool!
Well, Santa brought me a new guitar and I 'm very happy! I was looking for a while, for one I wouldn't worry too much carrying around for rehearsals and gigs and jams, and this is more than that. It's a Gallato RS 1939 Angelo Debarre model serie 1, I'm not quite sure of the year it was built but I imagine something around 2009. From what I found on the Internet it is a Selmer replica (No 452) and sounds great, to my ears at least. The neck is quite fat and wide which required some getting used to it (even though I was already trained on my Di Mauro). So I figured, who better can give an opinion than you guys? And what better way to introduce you to it than doing a small video?
Ok, I suppose I don't need to say anything about what goes on in the video. I should mention however a very cool detail, that this version was recorded on THIS date in 1943... That makes it exactly 76 years ago ! This is the first recorded version if I'm not mistaken, during the war hence without Grappelli, who was in London. There exist about eight different recordings of the tune (that I know of at least) and I list the links to all of them below, if you wanna check them out (I know I did) and listen to the different interpretations of the Master, in different formats :
