It's a really nice sunny day outside and it's the perfect day for walking the dog who has a new haircut to show off to the neighbours. I hav never walked the dog in barefeet before as I usually do it at night and I have to think about if I have to run away from someone.
It is so warm that I am sure I will get blisters on the underside of my feet. I love the feeling of the hot cement under my barefeet so I don't mind the pain of blisters afterwards. In New Zealand kids often walk on the hot pavement with barefeet and they will jump onto the grass when they can.
Silk the dog doesn't have shoes on either so sometimes she walks on the grass. Silk is a clever dog and I had to follow her lead when I forgot about the cooling effect of the grass.
I am going to miss Silk when I go. I will also miss walking around New Zealand in barefeet. In Sweden people don't go barefoot often so I wil stick out like a sore big toe.
