Learn the steps you can take to paint realistic looking mountains with acrylics in gorgeous winter colors. Throughout the video, I share important painting tips that will help you paint mountain scenes.
This painting is inspired by my visit to Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. This is painting is included in a series of paintings for all 50 U.S. states!

1. Paint Brushes - https://amzn.to/2Tf6yv9 and wash brushes https://amzn.to/2V67P8r
I use the flat and angled 1"brush, my wash brush, and two detail brushes from the set.
2. Acrylic Paints - https://amzn.to/2Efqaua
I show you how I mix the colors as I go. Here are the colors I used: Dioxine purple, thalocyane blue, brilliant blue, light blue permanent (can be made with white and brilliant blue), light blue violet (make with dioxine, brilliant blue and white) medium magenta, bronze (metallic), unbleached titanium, ivory black, titanium white and white Gesso. I did not use grey and I ran out of copper so used bronze.
3. Canvas - I uses an 18x18" canvas from blick.com
To make it easier to paint along I suggest using a smaller canvas, and 8x8" or 10x10" will work. Also, use the reference photo to help you see the colors closer as I place them.
4. My PALETTE (Colors don't dry out!) - https://amzn.to/2sOVd9p I used a paper plate because we were leaving the next day and did not want to dirty my clean pallete. But using this pallete makes blending easier.
