There are such high-quality things that, regardless of time, remain as new. I have a blouse like this that is many years old. Everything is fine, but the size has become small. You can wear it, but it is very tight.
How to make a blouse bigger? It seems difficult, but in reality it is not. There are different ways to do this.
Of course, you will need another fabric suitable for this model. If this is a summer item, then lace is ideal for alteration.
- You can rip the side seams, sleeves and insert strips of fabric;
- Cut the back and insert a wedge;
- You can also insert strips of fabric along the chest line.
I really like how the insert goes front and center. As a result, the blouse remains the same, but the style changes. With this method, the blouse expands and the neckline changes.
Here's what I did:
1) I marked the middle line in front and stepped back 3 cm from it. Then I continued the lines to the shoulder points. I cut out the excess fabric and collar. As a result, the closed neck will become open.
2) Next, I laid a stitch along the cut line so that the knitwear does not stretch.
3) To process the cut, I took blue fabric and cut out bias tape from it. I folded it and stitched it along its entire length.
4) There will be a decorative belt along the waist line. From the cut fabric I cut out a strap for the plaque.
5) I stitched the stripes to the blouse. I swept the cut with a zigzag. There were two options for the insert: blue lace and white cambric.
Both looked beautiful, but they were outweighed by white fabric, since they would have to have a lining underneath the lace, and this is undesirable for a summer model.
6) At the top of the insert I sewed a strip from a blouse. The waistline on the white fabric was slightly narrowed. I attached the plaque.
I like the result, everything turned out as planned.
It is possible to alter a blouse at home.
