Hi guys!
It's our 13th day in our adventure, we will leave behind the unbelievable Peloponnese crossing the Rio-Antirrio bridge. This megastructure, officially the Charilaos Trikoupis Bridge, is one of the world's longest multi-span cable-stayed bridges and longest of the fully suspended type. It crosses the Gulf of Corinth near Patras, linking the town of Rio on the Peloponnese peninsula to Antirrio on mainland Greece by road.
This beautiful ride along the shore of the Gulf of Corinth to Delphi it was delightful. Across the gulf are the mountains of the Peloponnese,  and our curvy road leads us to the imposing Parnassus Mountains. The modern town of Delphi is situated immediately west of the archaeological site of the same name. Occupation of the site at Delphi can be traced back to the Neolithic period.
Earlier myths include traditions that Pythia, or the Delphic oracle, already was the site of an important oracle in the pre-classical Greek world. From here we rode to another historical place, to the Thermopyles. This  "hot gates"is a narrow pass in Lamia, Greece. It derives its name from its hot sulphur springs. In Greek mythology the Hot Gates is one of the entrances to Hades. Also,
Thermopylae is the site of the Battle of Thermopylae between the Greek forces and the invading Persian forces. We are continuing our ride on very curved roads among the mountains and in the end of the day we arrived in the beautiful town of Karpenissi. It was such a beautiful place that we decided to spend a few nights here. This is how we managed to discover incredible places hidden in the mountains, like the
Prousos Panaghia monastery, the biggest artificial lake in Greece, the Kremaston lake. But the most amazing thing, was the placement of the villages, terraced gardens, cultivating the land on the mountain's roof, similar with Machu Picchu. That's why we called it the Greek Machu Picchu.
