This episode covers the removal, components, service, and operation of the Honda Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) High Voltage Hybrid Battery and Battery Junction Board. These components are found inside the Intelligent Power Unit (IPU) behind the rear seat.

IMPORTANT: I should have worn high-voltage gloves and used PPE in this video. This battery is bad and its voltage is almost zero, so there was no danger to me, but I should have been a better example of safety precautions.

Video Timeline:
0:00 Introduction
0:16 Battery junction board
0:58 Removing the junction board
2:48 Three battery temperature sensor connections
5:00 Battery junction board components
5:12 Negative contactor
6:05 Bypass (pre-charge) contactor and resistor
6:50 Battery current sensor
7:14 Battery module switch
7:28 450V 100 A fuse
8:45 Battery assembly components
9:16 Battery module Bus bars
11:18 Battery module voltage sensing circuits
12:00 Battery end cap removal
12:30 11, not 13 battery modules at 14.4V each
13:25 Battery frame disassembly
16:03 Battery module removal
16:24 12 1.2V Ni-MH D-cell batteries in series per module
17:56 I made a mistake in this video by stating that there are thirteen battery modules when there are only eleven. 11 x 14.4V = 158.4 Volts

The system shown in this video is similar to the systems found in the following Honda Hybrid vehicles:
Insight 2000-2006 - Gen 1
Civic 2003-2005 - Gen 1
Civic 2006-2011 - Gen 2
Civic 2012-2015 - Gen 3
Accord 2005-2007 - Gen 1
Insight 2010-2014 - Gen 2
CRZ 2011-2016 - Gen 1
