Beagle is famous for anthropomorphic beagle Snoopy in the comic strip. Beagles have perfect size and strong muscles, developed primarily for hunting hare by English royal family.

Recently, beagles are working as detection dogs for illegal drugs and prohibited imports. In 2019, it was reported that beagles are capable of identifying lung cancer in humans. Trained beagles were 97 percent accurate in distinguishing blood serum samples of patients with lung cancer from healthy control samples.
