The higher-performance Speed ​​model rejoins the Continental GT lineup for 2022 and is powered by a 650-hp version of the W-12 engine; updates to the chassis to improve agility. Among the new handling improvements are rear-wheel steering and a torque vector rear differential. The Speed ​​also features special styling features including Speed ​​badging, unique 22-inch alloy wheels, microfiber interior upholstery—and optional carbon fiber dash trim. The new Blackline specification via Bentley's Mulliner customization department is now available and features darker exterior and interior trims for a sleeker look. Engine, Transmission and Performance The updated versions of the existing V-8 and W-12 engines that support the previous generation Continental GT provide powerful car performance. Our testing of older models revealed that the V-8, which produces 542 horses, can launch the coupe to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. The more expensive W-12 engine makes 626 horsepower in the non-Speed ​​model and can propel a coupe to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds. The same engine has been tuned to 650-hp in the Speed ​​model, and we expect it to hit 60 in just 3.1 seconds. Both engines use an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that can shift gears quickly but smoothly. Customers can order a coupe or convertible with either engine. And all Continental GTs come standard with an all-wheel-drive system. Bentley Continental Engine The Continental is powered by a 5998cc 12-cylinder petrol engine producing 626 hp with 900 Nm of torque and a 3998cc 8-cylinder petrol engine producing 542 hp and 770 Nm of torque.
