The 3 Stages of Catabolism

This podcast covers the  3 stages of catabolism and their specific tissue/ cellular location.  Most of stage 1 occurs in the lumin  of the small intestine to produce glucose, amino acids, fatty acids from the digestion of the respective dietary components; polysaccharides, proteins and triacylglycerols. Stages 2 and 3 are intracellular and proceed after the uptake of glucose, amino acids, and fatty acids from circulation.
