We spent a week at Blanco State Park in May 2023 and took several day trips to other state parks in the area. One of those was Pedernales State Park. While falls in Texas are not the towering walls of water that you normally think of, they still are beautiful and mesmerizing places to visit.
The hike to the falls is not very long, but if you plan to go past the viewing area and down to the falls themselves, it can be kind of steep and rocky. If it's been raining add slippery to that list. We went in the middle of the week and it was a bit overcast so we pretty much had the falls to ourselves.
We drove through the camping area and we would definitely come back. Most sites had covered picnic tables and looked to be in really good condition.
