It is Throwback Thursday and
It is Throwback Thursday and we are diving into our vast CBC archives. In 2016, B.C. schools required protections for gay, lesbian and transgender students. This story from 1997 offers a glimpse into the challenges gay high schoolers faced at that time. Our Dan Burritt is joined by Romi Chandra Herbert, an LGBTQ advocate and one of the high schoolers featured in the original story. They reflect on how things have changed in schools for LGBTQ students 26 years later.
Warning: This story contains graphic language and mentions suicide.
