Omni Present Technologies: Founded by Aakash Sinha in 2010, specializes in developing drones, robots, and the associated software. Their significant achievement was their role in the Chandrayaan-3 mission, where they crafted the Pragyaan rover’s visual capabilities on the moon. Their Preception Navigation Software facilitated the creation of a 3D lunar surface image from rover-captured images, aiding ISRO scientists in navigating the rover.
Azimuth Business on Wheels: Founded by Puneet Anand, a former merchant navy officer, in 2016, Azimuth Business on Wheels specializes in crafting customized trucks for the food and beverage industry. Azimuth introduced India's first steel 20-foot capsule-shaped food truck, fully equipped with kitchen facilities. Their impressive portfolio includes over 500 brands like 27Seven, Starbucks, Chicago Pizza, Rebel Foods, Chai Point, and Haldirams, showcasing their expertise in the field.
Lohum: Today, majority of the lithium that powers our electric vehicles is extracted through activities that are harmful for the environment - poisoning our water, soil and air. And its not just Lithium. Cobalt, Nickel and Graphite. This is where Lohum comes in. Founded by two Harvard business school graduates Rajat Verma and Justin Lemmon in 2018, Lohum takes the dead batteries from cars, bikes, laptops and smartphones and processes them to recover metals and minerals, which are then purified and ready to be used into new batteries.
ISAK Fragrances: Founded in 2016 by Vidushi Vijayvergiya, ISAK Fragrances is a premium brand specializing in Indian attars, reviving the tradition of 100% perfume oil-based scents. Vidushi, despite hailing from a Marwari business family, chose to start her own venture after facing rejection from her family. Featured on Shark Tank, she secured Rs 50 lakh from Peyush Bansal of Lenskart for a 50% stake.
Arboreal Bioinnovations: Established in 2015 by Swati Pandey and Manish Chauhan, Arboreal Bioinnovations is a plant-based biotech startup specializing in Stevia-based food and beverages. Stevia, a natural sweetener with zero calories, is positioned by Arboreal as a safer alternative to sugar, crucial in a country with over 100 million diabetics. Operating a B2B model, Arboreal supplies its Stevia solutions to over 150 global companies for reformulating food products.
OatMlk: Founded in 2020 by Akash Wadhwani and Rishabh Gupta, OatMlk aims to provide an alternative to dairy milk for lactose intolerant Indians. The Kanpur-based startup, launched in November 2021 after extensive experimentation with oats, operates primarily through B2B partnerships with hotels in 40 cities. Having expanded to the UAE and Singapore, OatMlk raised Rs 1 crore from investors to bolster its brand and introduce more oat-based products, with plans to further develop its B2C business in India.
ClearDekho: founded by Shivi Singh and Saurabh Dayal, initially started as an online eyewear marketplace but faced financial challenges. To survive, they transitioned to selling affordable eyewear on the streets, abandoning the online model. This move, while initially humbling, provided valuable insights into customer needs. Now operating on a franchise model, ClearDekho boasts over 100 offline stores in tier 3 and tier 4 cities, successfully tapping into the offline retail opportunity.
Kyari Innovations: Established in 2017 by Abhay Sharma and Smratika Sharma, Kyari Innovations specializes in creating innovative products for adventure travelers. Their flagship product, Guardian, is a smart stick designed for hiking and camping. Featuring LED lights for night navigation, a panic alarm, and an electrostun feature for deterring wild animals, it also functions as an emergency power bank. Featured on Shark Tank, Kyari Innovations secured Rs 51 lakh for 6% equity from investors Anupam Mittal and Peyush Bansal.
