On Prime Time, we try to understand the definition of 'office of profit' in terms of legislative rules. Punjab's Cultural Affairs Minister who desires to continue as a celebrity judge in a popular TV show has faced resistance both from his party and from outside. However, according to Advocate General Atul Nanda, there is no legal barrier to Sidhu continuing his work with the show. Is it ethically correct for a person to have a source of income apart from the salary earned as a legislator or a minister? Does this mean that other ministers, legislators or parliamentarians can take up jobs outside of their duties in the government? (Audio in Hindi)
