Chemical Thermodynamics 3.1 - First Law

Short physical chemistry lecture on the first law of thermodynamics.

The first law of thermodynamics states that the energy of isolated systems is constant. A closed system may exchange energy with its surroundings as heat or work. Together the system and its surroundings form an isolated system.
