If you are planning to go on a one day trip from Kochi.. Arikal waterfalls is definitely a good spot to choose.

Let's take a look at the route to get here. From Vytilla bus stand, take a bus going to Koothattukulam via Piravam, get off at Anchelpetty Junction and drive 4.5 km from there to reach Arikal Falls.. You can get an auto from Anchelpetti or Pambakuda Junction.

Let me tell you first.. You should go here only during rainy season.. Rainy season or you won't see any water here.
It is doubtful whether there is another place in Ernakulam district where adults and children alike can bathe in the waterfall without any fear. The water reaches a pond which is not very deep.
There are two ways here as main.. One can come through the main road and come down about 100 steps.. There is another way to reach the bottom for those who have buddimut to go up and down.
The fee to visit here is twenty rupees.. There is also a shop where you can get snacks if you go down. There are separate facilities for ladies and gents to change the dress.
A good place to visit for those who are in Kochi one day.
Arikal Falls, located in Pampakuda Panchayat of Ernakulam district, was not very familiar to the tourists until recently.
 Tourists started noticing this after the Kerala Government launched Arekal Tourism Development Scheme in 2014
It is one of the main domestic tourist attractions of Pampakkuda. The waterfall originates from Mannathur Hills in Tirumaradi Panchayat. It descends from a height of more than 70 feet over the cliffs.
Kocharikal Caves, Mandalam Mount, Mayiladam Para, Shulam Falls, Pazhur Padipura, Pazhur Perumthrikovil Temple and Piravam Valiya Palli are other important tourist spots near Arikal Falls.
