The Elcometer 456 Coating Thickness Gauge is a DFT gauge with a difference. While you can use the Elcometer 456 as an integral gauge - allowing for consistent, repeatable, dry film thickness results through single-handed use - the separate Elcometer 456 models can be used with a wide range of probes to provide even greater coating thickness measurement flexibility.
Featuring a highly durable ‘snap on’ replaceable probe cap, the Elcometer 456 Coating Thickness Gauge Ultra/Scan Probe is a revolutionary design which allows users to take individual dry film thickness readings or rapidly scan large surface areas - without damaging the probe or the coating.
When used in conjunction with the Elcometer 456 Coating Thickness Gauge Scan or Auto Repeat Modes, the Ultra/Scan Probe enables users to significantly reduce dry film thickness inspection times without affecting accuracy.
The Ultra/Scan Probe uses the Elcometer 456 Coating Thickness Gauge’s patented offset feature, ensuring that any cap wear during use is incorporated within the calibration process. The coating thickness gauge even informs the user when to replace the cap.
