The UK government has announced
The UK government has announced a public inquiry into the murder of Belfast lawyer Pat Finucane, who was shot dead by loyalist terrorists in 1989.
Pat Finucane was an effective defence solicitor who represented IRA members and loyalists accused of terrorist offences.
A court previously ruled there was a failure to hold an "effective investigation" into his murder at the hands of loyalist paramilitaries.
