I had a cooking demo and judging food competitions for the 3 days. Along with other chefs Henry Alexie Bloem, Juna, Chandra Yudasswara, Ragil Imam Wibowo, Ibu SIsca Soewitomo, Yongki Gunawan, Yono Purnomo and many more!


Bonus recipe from cooking demo: Beauty Veggie Roll with Spicy Peanut Sauce

Spicy Peanut Sauce/Sambal Kacang (3-4 Servings)
150grams peanuts kacang tanah, toasted sangrai
6-10 buah cabe merah keriting (sesuai spicy level)
2 buah candlenuts kemiri, toasted sangrai
50g white sugar
2 tsp salt, pinch pepper
600 ml water
2 Tbsp oil
Lime leaf (optional)
100g gula jawa palm sugar
2 tsp white vinegar
Blend peanuts, chili candlenuts chili, sugar, salt and pepper and 250ml water until a smooth paste. Stir fry in oil add bruised lime leaf, fry until quite dry and fragrant takes about 10 minutesPrepare 350ml hot water add to peanut mixture. Stir add white vinegar and palm sugar to taste.

Blue Pea Flowers Vermicelli Bihoon:
2 tsp Butterfly Pea flowers
500 ml water
Boil water. turn heat off and Steep flowers in boiling water for ten minute. Sieve and return water to potTake desired amount(about 150grams per person) of beehoon and steep in almost boiling butterfly pea flower solution. Strain softened bihoon and set aside
Assembly Beauty Rolls:
Rice papera plate of Water(to soak rice paper)Lettuce leaves
Cabbage (shredded)
Red Pepper (strips)
Cucumber (Matchsticks)Carrot (Thin Matchsticks)
Fried Tofu (optional soy marinade)
Scrambled egg/omelet (strips)
Bean sprouts (slightly blanched in hot water)
Alfalfa sprouts
ChivesEdible flowersFresh herbs eg Kemangi/ Mint/ Coriander leaves
Soak rice paper until soft. Put desired ingredients onto 1/3 of the rice paper and add noodles. Choose your preferred filling.Roll tight and serve with room temperature Peanut Sauce.
