Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez is trying to win a third consecutive national election since taking power in 2018. But his leftist coalition took a beating in regional and local elections in May. Alberto Núñez Feijóo mainstream conservative Popular Party has led most polling during the campaign but they might have to form a coalition with Spain's extremist party Vox for their first national victory since 2016.
