Jennifer realized her feelings for Jack, but when she kissed him and confessed that she wanted him, Jack pushed her away due to his self-loathing. Though they kissed several more times, Jack fired Jennifer after she went to speak to his adoptive father in prison behind his back, and then Jennifer accepted Emilio's proposal. Jack "rescued" Jennifer from an ill-fated marriage when he dressed as a fireman and kidnapped her on a firetruck right before the ceremony, but still wouldn't admit his feelings for her. She continued planning a wedding to Emilio while testing Jack's feelings. The two became privy to the truth about Isabella's father thanks to some diary pages Jack was hiding, and set out on the Cruise of Deception with a number of other Salemites as this secret bubbled under the surface. Their feelings for each other came to a head, but the ship sank when Isabella's not-father Ernesto enacted his revenge on Victor Kiriakis. Stranded on a island with their other Salem residents, Jack and Jennifer finally made love for the first time (despite her ongoing engagement to Emilio, who was back in Salem kissing on her cousin Melissa).
