BMW 435d xDrive Launch Control

Trying out the Launch Control on my new BMW 435d xDrive. Assuming the speedo is correct then it does what BMW say it does.
0 - 62 mph  4.7 second.

I've read that people are having trouble getting it to work. I read the manual and found out that,
1, the engine needs to be up to temp
2, Sport + needs selecting
3, Gear lever into sport
4, Press and hold the brake very hard
5, press the gas all the way down on to the kick down.
Then let go of the brake when the rpm hit around 3000.

according to the manual, it will only hold for 3 second and that you should allow 5 mins between each launch for the transmission to cool.
