Why I Choose to Fly Spray My Cattle | Regenerative Ranching

Fly control is a difficult subject when it comes to regenerative ranching. The obvious choice would be a biological agent such as fly predator wasps or Purple Martin’s or other fly eating birds. We have tried fly predator wasps without success and unfortunately don’t have a Purple Martin population that can effectively decrease the fly burden. We would prefer to not use insecticides when regenerative ranching because of the potential effect on soil life, but we have not come up with any other good options.  I used Co-Ral Fly and Tick spray in this video. We would welcome other ideas from other folks to deal with face and horn flies and the economic consequences on cattle performance caused by these pests.
