Sweet Chili Sauce Recipe - A Sweet & Spicy Delight - Pepper Geek

Sweet chili sauce is a fantastic, sweet and spicy dipping sauce. It is perfect for spring rolls, potstickers, rice, shrimp or even chicken wings. The best part is how simple it is to make - basically a quick, 1-pot sauce that takes about 15 minutes!

RECIPE (Makes 6-8 oz of chili sauce)

Sweet chili sauce ingredients:
- 5-7 Thai peppers (~2 tbsp), finely chopped
- 1-2 cloves garlic (~1 tbsp), finely chopped
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3/4 tsp salt

Cornstarch slurry ingredients:
- 1/2 tbsp corn starch
- 1 tbsp cold water

Directions:
- Mix all ingredients except cornstarch slurry in a medium pot
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat
- Simmer 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally
- Mix cold water and corn starch in small bowl, then pour into pot
- Stir immediately and simmer for another 3-4 minutes
- Remove from heat and allow to cool
- Pour sauce into glass jar and refrigerate
