After MEDICAL GASLIGHTING // The doctors wouldn't listen... but someone finally did. DON'T GIVE UP!

CSF Leak diagnosis update & Bringing awareness to one of the worst parts of chronic illness: doctors don't listen. This was my emotional fallout when a doctor listened after many years of being misdiagnosed and underdiagnosed. If you have a history of mental disorders like depression or anxiety, the doctors sometimes say your chronic pain is in your head. Your chronic illness is just your anxiety. Stress. Diet and Lifestyle. You have chronic fatigue because you are depressed. Eventually, you believe them... your chronic illness is all in your head. This is called medical gaslighting, and it is SO common for people with EDS (Ehlers Danlos Syndrome) and its comorbidities.

A neurologist finally acknowledged that this isn't right. I suffered a happy panic attack, caught on camera. I think if you watch closely, you can really watch me process through a range of emotions throughout this video as the news sinks in that a doctor wants further testing. Enjoy.
