Shaykh Amir Bahjaat explains why the fiqh of the Salaf was more thorough and comprehensive than the fiqh of later generations. The result is a deficiency in the fiqh of many of those who came later and particularly in modern times.

Shaykh Doctor Amir Bahjat obtained his Bachelors in Shariah followed by a Masters in Comparative Fiqh from Muhammad bin Saud University in Riyadh
He completed his doctorate in the faculty of Shariah from Madinah University with a distinction
He also has a Masters in Islamic Finance
He has studied under Shaykh Abdullah ibn Abdul Aziz al-Aqeel

Shaykh Abdullah ibn Abdur-Rahman al-Jibreen
He has an ijazah of listening to Sahih al-Bukhari completely with a chain of narration going back to Imam al-Bukhari
He has an ijazah of listening to Sahih Muslim completely with a chain of narration going back to Imam Muslim
He has an ijazah of listening to Shamaail al-Muhammadiyyah going back to Imam at-Tirmidhi
As well as listened to al-Muwatta of Imam Malik from Shaykh Abdullah al-Ubaid
