Voice acting can make or break a game. You want the characters in the game to convey emotion and make the player feel something. The voice actors in this video only made players laugh and not for the right reasons. Get ready for 10 awkward voice acting fails you need to hear!
1. Mega Man 8
Mega Man 8 on the Playstation is a legendary Mega Man game. Not because it’s particular good or interesting but because it has terrible voice acting. The cut-scenes are just so awkward to watch. Doctor Light or Wight as he calls him sounds like he’s hunting for wabbits. What a wonderful woice actor!
2. Grand Theft Auto: London 1969
Look, we get that you want some tough talking Londoners in your GTA game but this is just taking the piss. The lads in Grand Theft Auto: London 1969 are trying way too hard. Every accent in the game is completely over the top. The monotone delivery doesn’t do the game any favors either. What a load of bollocks!
3. Michigan: Report From Hell
Do you like the acting of Nicolas Cage in the movie The Wickerman? Then you’ll love Michigan: Report From Hell. This Japanese survival horror game isn’t great at all but the voice acting definitely is something else. The guy gets way too loud and it seems like nobody in the production team dared to ask him to tone it down a bit. OHH MYYY GAAAAWWWDD!
4. Deep Fear
Deep Fear is another survival horror game with award winning voice acting. The monotonous protagonist is pretty funny to listen too. However things get really hilarious when you meet the French Dubois character. This attempt at a 'gay' voice is so toe curling it’s downright insulting. We don't know if this guy is meant to be comic relief or just a Japanese stereotype of the French but it’s really bizarre.
5. Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night
Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night is one of the best Castlevania games ever made. It has also become famous for its cringe worthy voice acting. The bad echo in the audio recording and poor attempt at Shakespearian English make this one an instant classic. We sometimes replay Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night for the voice acting alone. What is a man?
6. Resident Evil
The original Resident Evil had the awesome combination of a badly translated Japanese script and clueless voice cast. The voice actors sound like they have no absolutely no idea what’s going on and are simply there to pick up a paycheck. Don’t get us wrong we love these amazing quotes. Gaming wouldn’t be the same without the bad voice acting of Resident Evil.
7. House Of The Dead 2
House Of The Dead 2 is full of incredibly bad voice acting. Just listen to these brilliant pieces of dialog. However nothing comes even close the awesomeness that is Goldman. His robotic monotone delivery is in a league of its own. Most of what he says doesn't actually make any sense at all. Goldman …. is …. simply ...the …. best.
8. Two Worlds
Two Worlds from Polish developer Reality Pump is a pretty mediocre roleplaying game. The dialog is anything but mediocre, it’s downright terrible. The voice actors really ham it up and not in a good way. The audio quality is also bad as it sounds like everybody is in a cave. It’s a tonally inconsistent and kind-of hilarious mess.
9. Chaos Wars
The Playstation 2 game Chaos Wars had the lowest of low budget localizations. The CEO of the localization company O3 Entertainment used his own family members as voice actors in the game. You can clearly hear that these people are all amateurs. Chaos Wars proves that video game voice acting is a real job that should be done by trained professionals.
10. Animal Soccer World
Animal Soccer World for the Playstation 2 is a shovelware title by the infamous Dutch video game publisher Phoenix Games. It has also the worst voice-acting in gaming. The horrendous voice acting of all the animals is done by ONLY ONE voice actor who's clearly from Holland. Listening to this game is an experience we wouldn't wish upon our worst enemy.
