Anal fistula or anal fistula
Fistula This fistula appears as a result of inflammation filled with pus or abscess
We were all born with small glands inside the anal canal, only about 1-2 cm inside the anus. There are usually 10-20 of these oily glands. It is believed that its function is related to the lubrication of the anal canal to facilitate defecation.
Just like the oil glands on the face, these glands can sometimes be blocked by thickened secretions and then infected.
When this happens, an abscess occurs, and the pus from the abscess will follow the path of least resistance. The abscess will track under, between, or across the adjacent anal sphincter. Sometimes, the abscess moves to the fat around the anus (this is the filling we sit on - it is called "straight fat").
Symptoms of the anal fistula
Anal fistula infection is associated with some disturbing symptoms, which are:
Pain and swelling in the anal area
Body heat and chills
Feeling tired and sick
Redness, inflammation and itching in the anal area
The presence of pus near the anal area
Fistula treatment in the anus
Treatment relates to the type of fistula and whether the external sphincter muscle is also affected.
In most cases, opening and removing a fistula canal by performing surgery is considered adequate treatment.
There are many methods of treatment, including inserting a wire through the fistula canal to drain and close the fistula
Includes closing the internal port of the fistula with a hook
Adhesive fibrin is used, which in some cases succeeds in closing the fistula
