In this tutorial, I introduce some performance possibilities with these loop in remix decks in Traktor. Other than one-shots, launching clips, Ableton Live style, is one of the most obvious ways to use Traktor's remix sets. However, simply triggering different parts of a single pattern all together isn't really making use of the deck flavor in that the same thing could be accomplished with cue points and loops in track decks. However, since we have our deck set up with kicks, snares, hats, and everything else on separate columns, we are able to separately trigger and move between different parts of loops. Using the faders and filter on each column, we are able to transition more smoothly. Using Punch mode, we are able to use the remix decks to move between different loops without re-triggering or restarting them. This also allows us to loop the entire remix deck while changing the material (the individual clips) out from under the loop. Remix decks also allow us to turn effects on and off for each of the set's four columns, as demonstrated in the video. This allows us an enormous amount of control over transitions based on effects, even on individual loops. Make sure to subscribe to us on YouTube for all our Traktor tutorials.
