Wondering what kind of special and interesting food Germany has? What is the typical German food besides bread, beer and sausages?
Here I share with you the main types of interesting food that I've only seen in Germany or tried for the first time in Germany.
There are many interesting variations and products around the German culture and traditions. German cuisine is rich and very varied; from different related or (similar to pasta) products like spätzle, schupfnudeln, maultaschen and knödel... to healthy and delicious vegetables like Kohlrabi and white asparagus.
For the meat lovers there are also many options and all kinds of different sausages, but something I find very curious is the mett, which is basically minced raw pork. In Germany you can also find the Blutwurst (sausage with blood) and the sülze (jelly with meat or vegetables).
